The Digital Production Partnership (DPP) has released a mobile app containing articles and explanatory videos on common software and hardware products and services for production staff.

Developed in conjunction with DPP member Transfermedia, the Film Tech App is available for iOS and Andriod and will be demonstrated at the Media Production Show (MPS).

“We are regularly approached by people who work in production asking where they can find out more about subjects such as codecs, memory cards and delivery specifications.” said DPP managing director Mark Harrison. “Now they can have that information in the palm of their hand.”

The app also contains industry reports that were previously only available to DPP Members. The content has been written and checked by media professionals and will be updated regularly.

The Film Tech App will usually cost £7.99. However, it is available at a special MPS offer price of £4.99 until 15 June.
