Deltatre has acquired sports data firm Impire.

Deltatre said the deal, which is the first corporate acquisition in the Italian firm’s 28-year history, would allow it to “deliver a more extensive range of best in-class products and services to its global customer base”.

Impire’s product suite includes B2B solutions, editorial and broadcasting graphics services for TV, online, print and mobile as well as professional tracking, visualisation and match analysis solutions.

The acquisition will provide Deltatre with the ownership of proprietary technologies and products such as the Vis.Track optical tracking system and the VT.GPS, a GPS system for physical performance analysis.

Deltatre co-founder and chief executive Giampiero Rinaudo said: “Inheriting Impire’s great tradition of technical achievement will constitute a qualitative addition to our portfolio and, most importantly, Deltatre will be in a prime position to offer a full spectrum of services not only in Germany, but also to expand to new markets in Central and Eastern Europe.”

Impire was founded in 1988 and employs 48 people across three offices in Germany.
