London-based 3D sales and rental house Decode will launch two new 3D mirror rigs next month.
The D-Rex (pictured) is a large 3D rig for full size cameras and is the first UK designed and built rig for Arri’s Alexa and Red’s Epic, according to Decode.
D-Raptor is a smaller rig for cameras such as the Sony EX3 and F3.
The rigs will be sold in standard configuration as passive rigs, with the option for automatic operation and implementation with cmotion or Preston lens control systems for wireless rig control.
Managing director Samuel Martin said the rigs had been developed over the last 15 months.
He said: “We wanted to be able to provide a large number of rigs into our fleet - rigs that would be easily convertible between active and passive, and most importantly would not flex, an issue we experienced with all other rigs at the time we started.”
The rigs will be on show at Cine Gear Expo 2011 in Paramount Studios, Los Angeles, 2-5 June.
