The general manager of programmes and on-demand at the BBC’s Future Media division has joined BBC Studios and Post Production (S&PP) as a non-executive board member.

In his role at Future Media, Daniel Danker is responsible for the strategy and delivery of BBC’s iPlayer, Radio and Music and Red Button products.

Danker said: “With BBC iPlayer, I’ve worked to bring great television to audiences in new ways.

“Here, we have the opportunity to go right back to the beginning of the production process, seeing digital innovation through an entirely new lens. I’m looking forward to helping the team bring this future to life.”

BBC S&PP chief executive Anna Mallett said: “[Danker] has an enormous depth of knowledge in the field of digital entertainment and multi-platform content.

“This insight will be invaluable as our customers look to repurpose and create added-value content for a range of media outlets – from mobile and websites to TV and live events.”
