Brief Help the production team augment the period details in the drama about a 1930s black jazz band.
How it was done Union was the sole visual effects supplier, working on more than 200 shots.
The work ranged from adding smoke and steam to the trains to replacing modern elements.
One shot involved removing a line of modern bricks from a wall, which was challenging because it was placed behind people who were dancing outside during a hailstorm.
Union created a brick texture and tracked it into the shots, painting out the characters and then keying the hail and snow back over the top.
Adam Gascoyne was visual effects supervisor, Tim Caplan was visual effects executive producer and Noga Alon Stein was visual effects producer.
All the work was composited using Nuke.
Watch it Mondays, 9pm, BBC2
