Creative and Technical Media Services (CTMS), the owner of Manchester post house 422, has snapped up the assets of Barcud Derwen’s Arc Facilities in Scotland, potentially saving a host of jobs in the process

The acquisition was completed late on Friday (25 June) in conjunction with the company’s administrator Grant Thornton and will see the post house become a standalone business within the production resources group.

Arc’s ongoing business and goodwill and the majority of its editing and finishing technology have all moved to CTMS.

An agreement has also been reached for use of the company’s city centre building in Glasgow and CTMS is currently in discussions with Arc’s 22 staff about future roles.

CTMS managing director David Jackson said: “Arc is a great business with an excellent reputation and a talented team. It has been through the mill of late, but with investment I expect it to thrive.”

Barcud Derwen Scotland, which trades as Arc Facilities, was closed by administrators on 18 June.

An initial deal with CTMS fell though on 22 June over the future use of Arc’s building (Broadcast, 25.06.10).
