The Digital Television Group's chief operating officer, Keith Wilkinson, and its technology director, Simon Gauntlett, have taken joint temporary management of the industry association after director general Dermot Nolan left unexpectedly.

He was in the role for just six months and the DTG declined to answer questions about the reasons for his departure.

Nolan took up his place on the DTG council in November 2007, joining from Ofcom.
