Brief Picture and audio post for the adaptation of John Lanchester’s novel, in which the residents of a London street are the victims of an anonymous hate campaign.
How it was done Dubbing mixer and SFX editor Howard Bargroff’s brief was to give London a presence so that the city was a character in its own right, ‘leaking’ into every scene. Using a Zoom H5, he took street recordings of Clapham to build a realistic soundscape, with sounds such as traffic and aeroplanes used as bridging sounds between cuts. The series was mixed using Avid Pro Tools HDX2 and an Icon D-Command 16-fader desk before a final mix at Hackenbacker, where the ADR and Foley was completed. Sion Penny was online editor and Dan Coles colourist.
Watch it Tuesday, 9pm, BBC1
