BVE event director Charlotte Wheeler (née Bowskill) is leaving the exhibition to join Broadcast publisher Media Business Insight (MBI).

In her new role as conference director, Wheeler will work towards launching a production and postproduction forum this summer.

“It won’t involve sitting in a conference room for two days,” she said.

“The event will include breakfast briefings, hands-on training, panel sessions and debates.”

The two-day forum will take place in London, with a view to rolling out regional versions of the event at a later date.

Wheeler has spent the past nine years working for the BVE trade show and conference.

“I loved watching the show grow from 7,000 to 17,000 visitors, and launching BVE North in Manchester, but now I am looking forward to a new challenge and finding ways to present new events to the market,” she said.

Wheeler joins MBI, which was spun off from Emap at the turn of the year, on 5 February.
