Disney SVoD to continue as in-season streamer home of series including The Simpsons
Fox Entertainment and Disney streamer Hulu have reaffirmed their content partnership with a multi-year deal for in-season streaming rights to hits including The Masked Singer and The Simpsons.
Under the fresh deal, Fox primetime programming will continue to stream on Hulu the day after broadcast on Fox’s linear network.
Titles included in the pact range from hit scripted comedy and drama such as Bob Burger’s, Family Guy, Animal Control, Rescue Hi-Surf and Murder in a Small Town to unscripted tentpoles like The Floor and Next Level Chef.
Besides renewing the output deal for new titles, the pact includes an agreement allowing Hulu to stream out-of-season episodes of key Fox unscripted programming. In-house unscripted studio Fox Alternative Entertainment produces series under this banner including The Masked Singer, Crime Scene Kitchen, Name That Tune, and Next Level Chef, Kitchen Nightmares and Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars – in association with Fox and Gordon Ramsay’s Studio Ramsay Global.
“Our friends at Hulu and Disney Entertainment are exceptional partners, together driving ongoing mutual growth and strong results,” said Rob Wade, chief exec of Fox Entertainment.
“Through our new agreement, we look forward to expanding on this impressive track record and collaboratively shaping the future of television in today’s shifting media landscape.”
Lauren Tempest, general manager at Hulu, added: “The long-standing, valued partnership we have with FOX has cemented Hulu as the next day streaming home for current Fox hits and out of season episodes of key Fox titles, and we’re excited to continue offering these scripted, unscripted and animated series to our subscribers.
“Our collective marketing efforts, which will continue with this new deal, have generated impressive results and helped viewers successfully find the shows they want to watch, when they want to watch them.”
