The Broadcast Digital Awards 2016 have opened for entries – with new categories including best scripted and non-scripted short.
This year’s awards will be held on 29 June at The Brewery, London and will again champion the most innovative, interactive and creative producers and broadcasters.
Last year E4 walked away as channel of the year, with Vice News winning in the original web channel and best popular factual programme categories. Other winners on the night included Channel 4 gameshow The Singer Takes It All, Sky 1’s Wild Things and BBC3 drama Murdered by My Boyfriend, while Discovery, Sky Sports and Sky News also picked up prizes.
This year two new categories – best scripted and non-scripted short - have been introduced to reflect the great work that is being done in short-form video, while best digital programming support will reward work that has enhanced viewers’ experience of a show
This year’s entry process has been simplified with the launch of a new website which allows entries to be uploaded digitally.
The deadline for entries is 18 March
