‘An Audience With Adele delivers both impressive scale and a real connection with the audience’
An Audience With Adele captures more than just the singer’s extraordinary vocals – it also showcases Adele’s down-to-earth and engaging personality, as she performs her number one single Easy On Me and other songs from her most recent album, 30.
The musical performance is at the heart of the project, with the cameras discreetly placed in key positions that do not intrude on the experience of the star-studded audience – which includes Emma Watson, Gareth Southgate, Samuel L Jackson, Bryan Cranston, Dua Lipa and Dawn French.
The singer’s combination of music and childhood stories brings an added level of emotion and depth to the performance, engaging both the audience in the studio and viewers at home.
One of the most moving moments is a tearful surprise reunion with Adele’s former English teacher, Ms McDonald, who is in the audience.
The programme is made all the more special by the inclusion of key workers such as doctors, nurses and other frontline sta in the audience, as well as those who were a ected by the 2017 Grenfell tragedy.
The judges commended the “authenticity and intimacy” of the programme, which delivers both “impressive scale and a real connection with the audience”.
