Brief Offline facilities and picture finishing for the 60-minute doc in which Lucy Worsley and David Starkey recreate the christening of Henry VIII’s heir Edward.
How it was done The doc was shot with a Canon C300 by DoP Ian Salvage and graded by colouris t Fred Tay using DaVinci Resolve. Tay, who also completed the online edit, said Salvage’s use of prime lenses, subtle lighting and composition added to the filmic look of the piece.
The re-enactment scenes were shot by a multi-camera unit, which provided a master cut and ISO recordings from each camera. The different shooting style was pushed in the grade to create a complementary look that could be integrated into the main film.
Big Bang dubbing mixer Pete Howell completed the sound design. The audio was tracklayed in Protools 11 and mixed using a Neve DFC console. The atmosphere of the film was enhanced with the use of Foley and subtle sound design. Dialogue was treated using iZotope RX 4 plugins.
Watch it Saturday 10 January, 9pm, BBC2
