Breathe Post Production has upgraded one of the 5.1 dubbing theatres at its North London facility and provided picture post on the winner of a charity short film competition.

The 32-fader Icon ES Dcontrol console was bought direct from Digidesign in partnership with reseller Scrub and replaces a Digidesign Pro Control.

Breathe managing director Dan Gable said: “Icon consoles have established themselves as a standard amongst high end audio post production facilities throughout the world and will provide Breathe’s award winning dubbing mixer team an even faster, more creative environment in which to work.”

The company has also picked up a new Sony HDcam SR deck.

Meanwhile, Breathe recently completed picture post on the short film ‘No Way Through’ which won the People’s Choice Award at the Ctrl.Alt.Shift charity short film competition.

Directed by Alexandra Monro and Sheila Menon it was shot using the Canon 5D MK II digital SLR camera.

The film (pictured) highlights the restrictions on the freedom of movement faced by Palestinians.

The competition invited aspiring filmmakers to write a treatment based around one of three key issues - War + Peace, Gender + Power or HIV + Stigma.
