DaVinci Resolve has been made available for Microsoft Windows, while the Linux version will now be included free with the DaVinci Resolve control surface.

Previously, Resolve on Linux was an additional $19,995 charge.

The Microsoft version of the colour correction software will be accompanied by the Mac OS X version so customers can choose which operating system they want to use.

Customers who have purchased the Mac OS X version of DaVinci Resolve will be able to keep using the same dongle for the Windows version of DaVinci Resolve.

“It makes things even more flexible for DaVinci Resolve customers,” said Blackmagic Design chief executive Grant Petty.

“And it makes it even easier to integrate Resolve colour correction into facility workflows when using a wider range of editing and effects software.”

The Windows version will be released in the first quarter of next year.
