Recently appointed BBC genre chiefs Patrick Holland and Polly Hill are among the big names speaking at Broadcast’s Commissioning Forum in November.

The new head of documentaries and controller of drama will use the event to publically set out their strategies and commissioning plans for the first time.

They will be joined by Channel 4 head of factual entertainment Liam Humphreys, who has also been handed an expanded entertainment brief and charged with reinterpreting the genre for the broadcaster.

The Broadcast Commissioning Forum runs for two days on 3 & 4 November at Bafta, on London’s Piccadilly.

Day one is focused on scripted programming, while day two will cover the broad non-scripted genres.

Alongside Hill, major drama figures also appearing on day one include C4 head of drama Piers Wenger and Red Production Company boss Nicola Shindler.

From comedy, speakers will include ITV commissioner Saskia Schuster and BBC commissioner Chris Sussman.

On the second day, two of TV’s biggest names are also confirmed speakers: ITV director of entertainment Elaine Bedell and Channel 5 director of programming Ben Frow.
