American-based sports broadcaster ESPN has asked BBC Technology to transform the company's present production, presentation and archive operations into a fully digital, tapeless environment. The order also represents Quantel's biggest ever order, with the technology company supplying 68 servers, 23 craft editing seats and 200 desktop edit/browse licences.
