Dublin-based Daniel O'Hara won best young director award at Wednesday (19 May) night's Broadcast Young Talent Awards.
Dublin-based Daniel O'Hara won best young director award at Wednesday (19 May) night's Broadcast Young Talent Awards.

The 29-year-old director won for his work for RTE and his short film Yu Ming Is AinmDom ( My Name is Yu Ming ). Category judge and director Ed Bye said: 'Daniel is frighteningly talented.'

BBC Money Programme producer Hannah Liptrot, 28, won best young producer for her investigative report, Mortgage Madness. The best young writer gong went to Teachers ' Ed Roe, 29, while the Picture Canning Company's Tom Hayward, 28, won best young camera person for Mediterranean Tales , Holiday and Fame Academy.

The judges' award for outstanding achievement went to editor Suzy Davis, 28, of Final Cut, who also picked up best young editor. The company talent development award - given to the company that has done the most to develop young people in television - was awarded to indie Betty TV.

The awards, in association with BBC Resources, took place at London's Hammersmith Palais.
