Arri will officially unveil a new range of 35mm-format digital cameras at IBC tomorrow when the technology tradeshow opens for 2009.
Based around a new, highly sensitive CMOS sensor the thus-far-unnamed three cameras will be priced aggressively to suit owner-operators and producers, particularly those making mainstream television.
The product line-up will cost between €50k and €130k with the entry level model utilising a 16:9 sensor and an electronic viewfinder while a more fully-featured version will have a 4:3 sensor and optical viewfinder.
The cameras will shoot 1-60 fps and provide 2k resolution. They are expected to compete with the Sony F900 and Panasonic Varicam 3700.
The trio will be available for sale in the summer of 2010.
