The Associated Press has launched a syndicated news service for Chinese state broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV).

‘CCTV News Content’, which launched on 1 January via Associated Press Television News’ (APTN) satellite network, will give broadcasters news, sports and entertainment footage from CCTV.

“APTN’s Corporate Services business is delighted to be able to distribute CCTV’s news feed,” said Nigel Baker, APTN’s VP of business operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“There is a growing appetite for news from China from around the world and we are confident that this new feed will help meet that need.”

The material will be free to all APTN customers and will come complete with shot lists.
