AmberFin has boosted its iCR range with the launch of a software-only standards converter for transcoding and rewrapping files for tapeless workflows.

The iCR Standards Converter has a variety of temporal, spatial, codec and wrapper conversion tools and runs on non-proprietary open architecture.

AmberFin chief technology officer Bruce Devlin said: “Our customer base wants to reduce it’s reliance on using videotape methodology and all that it entails, and the iCR Standards Convertor is a major step forward in that process”. 

Input and output formats include web and mobile variants as well as SD and HD.

A range of audio tools is also available.

Standards conversion is a key tool for monetising existing content in markets and territories with different frame rates.

The iCR Standards Converter is available from March 2010.
