Free two-day event starts tomorrow at Olympia
Ade Adepitan and Matt Frei, along with popular factual commissioners Kirsty Hanson and Matt Reid, are among the speakers joining the 240+ lined up to appear at the Media Production & Technology Show (MPTS).
Following a Covid-induced three-year hiatus, MPTS returns as an in-person, two-day event in London’s Olympia from tomorrow (11 May).
The free-to-attend event will host more than 200 exhibitors and 100 live sessions across eight theatres.
Latest sessions include:
- TV presenter Ade Adepitan hosting a discussion which asks if enough is being done to encourage disabled people into the industry and to allow them to tell stories that are about more than just their disability.
- Channel 4 news presenter and Europe editor Matt Frei takes part in a News Revolution session, about the challenges covering Ukraine; news values in the era of culture wars; ways to engage younger audiences and the proposed privatisation of Channel 4.
- UKTV factual entertainment commissioner Kirsty Hanson and Matt Reid of Warner Bros. discuss the future for factual entertainment and their current commissioning needs.
- Champion for STEM opportunities Kate Bellingham delivers a Celebrating Women in Media keynote, followed by a discussion on equality.
More than 7000 attendees are expected to attend the event, which is the biggest content production and media tech trade show in the UK, covering all aspects of content creation, including pre-production, production, post and distribution.
