Advanced Broadcast Services (ABS) has increased its broadcast capacity by 15 channels with the opening of Unit 15, its state-of-the-art playout pod. ABS has set up terminals via internet links to give clients real-time control and monitoring of output, allowing remote ingest and transfer to the London-based playout centre. The west London facility uses Pinnacle's Media Stream and also features Pharos System 7 Automation. ABS managing director Sass Jahani said: 'This new architecture is giving the channel full control of its content and playlist without the headache of managing a facility 24/7, so the international channels transmitting from our premises can manage their content remotely, from anywhere in the world, and they can sell commercials locally and get them to air within hours.'
