3alityTechnica remains on the hunt for more acquisitions, following 3ality’s deal to takeover rig specialists Element Technica at the end of last month.

3ality chief executive Steve Schklair told Broadcast that 3ality’s image processing and software capabilities and Element Technica’s engineering capacity had been entirely complimentary.

“There haven’t been any layoffs and the management structure has been a perfect fit.”

Schklair said the main focus of the firm’s presence at IBC was to show the combination of the companies’ technologies, with image processors now integrated with the stereoscopic rigs.

Schklair also revealed more deals could be on the horizon.

“It’s not the last acquisition we’ll make - I’m a deep believer in growth by acquisition,” he said.

“You can spend years building teams or you can take over something that already has market share.”

Schklair said any deals would “probably be in the area of software development,” in order to “avoid IP fights”, but he said he did not know when the next deal would occur.
