What atmosphere do you want to achieve at Absolute?
The bedrock for our growth has always been creating an environment with a family feel, in which creativity can flourish. We want everyone to feel they can contribute ideas. It’s important that all staff can call our leadership team.
Do you offer flexible working?
Our business has expanded to the point where we couldn’t all fit in the office, but we also feel it’s important to give staff the flexibility to work in a way best suited to their role. We ask staff to come in to help onboard starters and we’ll also ask starters to spend time in the office but, once they’re settled in, we’re happy for them to pick a schedule that suits them.
How do you celebrate success?
We have a monthly newsletter with a summary of our best work and updates of what we’ve been up to outside work.
We include a section for staff to call out others that have produced standout work or gone out of their way to make someone else’s life easier. Everyone put forward is added to a draw for a monthly prize. We submit employees’ work for awards, and invite those involved to celebrate at awards shows and events.
How do you reward staff?
We offer a good base salary with a benefits package that should have something for everyone – whether its our sabbatical scheme, enhanced maternity and paternity packages, group life insurance, 24/7 access to an online GP for quicker prescriptions or our Employee Assistance Programme. We also offer a quarterly bonus scheme.
How do you achieve a diverse workforce?
We use a recruitment platform that anonymises applicant data that could lead us to unconscious bias. This helps us meet candidates with an infinite range of backgrounds and experiences.
