Broadcasters using Brightcove to publish and distribute content to the web are to be given access to Forbidden Technologies’ cloud-based editing tools from within the online video platform.
Forbidden’s Forscene enables video, audio and still images to be uploaded to the cloud from either a PC or a Mac and includes tools for frame-accurate logging and editing.
It will be integrated into Brightcove as part of the company’s Alliance Partner Program.
Forbidden believes that the deal will eventually help content owners to make more money from online video as any metadata added during editing or logging can be published alongside the video and used to direct targeted advertising.
Forbidden Technologies project manager Pete Burns said: “The world of Cloud computing is rapidly growing with the Cloud now providing centralized productivity tools. This combination will help to bring online video monetization to a new level.”
Current Brightcove customers include Virgin Media Television, BSkyB, UKTV, Channel 4, ITV and Five.
