Red Bee Media has won the playout contract for BT’s new channel, BT Sport.
As part of the deal, which is for an unspecified number of years, Red Bee will provide playout, channel and media-management services for BT Sport, which launches this summer.
The playout deal builds on the west London firm’s work on the BT Sport logo, which was unveiled in February, plus the channel identity, which it is also creating.
Red Bee chief executive Patrick Tillieux said: “This is a significant win for Red Bee and is testament both to our excellent track record in delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective media distribution solutions and our expertise and experience in managing the demanding nature of high-profile live events and sports programming.”
BT Sport has a three-year deal with the Premier League to show 38 live games a season, as well as 69 live Aviva Premiership rugby union games.
