Gettens to lead Molinare's factual TV audio team

Gettens joins the Soho facility from Clear Cut Pictures, where he worked for 14 years, seven of which as head of audio.

Gettens, who began his career at Molinare as an audio assistant, has worked across factual, drama and feature films. His recent credits include BBC2 landmark drama documentary The Last Warrior King.

In 2013, he won the RTS Award for Best Sound in Drama for his work on BBC1 drama documentary D Day: The Last Heroes.

Molinare said his appointment would strengthen the company’s broadcast factual audio offering.

Molinare managing director Julie Parmenter said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Greg back to Molinare in what is set to be a very busy autumn period for us.

“Greg’s exemplary reputation and back catalogue of award-winning work demonstrate our intention to grow our factual portfolio even further.”

Gettens joins Molinare on 1 August.

He added: “I am very excited to be coming back home to Molinare, now as the head of a department which has such a great reputation. The work they produce is outstanding, so to be offered the opportunity to become part of that team is fantastic.”

Current head of factual sound George Foulgham will now concentrate on Molinare’s feature documentary division, which posted 25 feature documentaries in the last year, eight of which screened at this year’s Sheffield Doc/Fest. 

Foulgham commented: “Greg is without doubt one of the best factual mixers in London, and I couldn’t think of anyone better to work alongside with. He will greatly enhance our factual audio offering.”
