Shopping channel QVC is to uproot from Battersea to join fellow broadcasters Discovery Channel, CBS and Paramount at Chiswick Park.

After a three-year search for new premises, QVC has signed a 21 year lease on 126,000 sq ft of office space at the site and work is due to begin soon on offices and studio broadcasting facilities for around 600 staff.

From April next year, the broadcaster will occupy Building 8 in the park, the tenth of the 12 planned buildings to be constructed on the site.

QVC UK chief executive Dermot Boyd said:  “The move to Chiswick Park will provide us with state of the art facilities and excellent transport links.  More importantly, the site offers an excellent working environment for our employees.”

The broadcaster began its search in 2007 ahead of the expiry of its current lease in July 2012.

QVC’s UK arm also has a base in Knowsley, which houses its call centre, warehousing and distribution staff.
